My home base is in the magical little town of Nederland, CO- but for me, traveling is the name of the game!  I will go anywhere for a wedding as long as I have the availability for it!  Depending on the location, a travel fee may apply.

+ where are you based out of?

+ what's your favorite type of session?

Engagement sessions- hands down.  It makes my heart seriously happy to photograph two love birds without the wedding day chaos.  It gives me a chance to get to know the couple, hear their story, and form a friendship that will carry over to the big day and beyond!

I LOVE photojournalism.  I love real moments between people, and being there to document it.   I try to be the stealthiest paparazzi ninja ever.  However I know not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera, so I'm happy to provide direction whenever it's needed! :)

+ what's your philosophy/photography style?

Frequently Asked Questions

+ do you work alone?

For the most part, yes! Second photographers can always be added on to any package, but I am super confident in my solo abilities! I typically carry two cameras on my person at all times, so that I can get those overall environmental shots, as well as close-up candids within just seconds of each other!

If I were getting portraits of myself, I'd want them taken in Moab or Bryce Canyon. Those two places mean the world to me and give me so much life energy. What is your Moab? Location should say something about the person/people in the photo, whether it be something general or specific. It's different for everybody!
If you aren't the super sentimental type and just want some great shots at an epic location, I would be more than happy to pick a place out for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

+ do you carry insurance/back-up equipment?

100%, yes! I have business insurance that covers both damages & liability, and have a venue listed as additionally insured if required.
I also do my absolute best to take care of all of my equipment, but as we all know - technology can fail. That's why I'd never show up to a wedding without several cameras and lenses that I could use in the event that another piece of gear was malfunctioning.

This is a great question that I get asked a lot, and it requires a different answer depending on whether or not it's a wedding or portrait/engagement session.
In the event that I become too sick to work, there's a death in the family, an extreme emergency of some sort that prevents me from being at a
1) portrait/engagement session :  I would reach out ASAP to find a date to reschedule our session! In the event the session couldn't be rescheduled, any payment made for this specific service would be refunded.
2) wedding : Because I'm a one-woman business, I don't have anyone "on call" to cover my weddings in the event I couldn't be there. That being said, I am tapped into several networks of hundreds of talented photographers in the Colorado area and I've never seen calls for help go unanswered.
I would do my absolute best to find a photographer of a similar quality and skill level to fill in for me as an "associate photographer" on the wedding day. From there I would edit the images taken in my style so that you would have a final product consistent with what you've seen on my portfolio.
In the event you don't want an associate photographer to stand in for me and would rather cancel our contract, any payments made would be refunded back to you in full.

Full disclosure : In 9 seasons and over 150 weddings shot, I've never missed a single wedding (knock on wood).
I have cancelled one wedding contract 8 months in advance, and only because my baby was due 4 days before the wedding day. When I cancelled, I provided a list of trusted photographers who I had verified were available, and willing to offer the same coverage as I could within their budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What is the booking process like?

I try to make the process as simple and as streamlined as possible for both you and me! In a nutshell, it would look something like this:

1) Get in touch! If I'm available for your session/wedding, we'll jump on a call or meet for a coffee/beer to see if I'd be a good fit for you!
2) If I am exactly what you're looking/hoping for in a photographer, you'd just let me know what kind of session/coverage you wanted to move forward with.
3) I'd set up a client portal for you via Dubsado, and send you a simple contract, an invoice, and for weddings - a questionnaire to keep track of all of the details as they come along.
4) Ask me anything! We'll stay in touch until your session date/wedding to make sure we're on the same page.
5) We make some photo magic!

+ and then?

1) I'll deliver LOTS of high-res previews available for instant download from your online gallery. You can expect previews generally within 2-3 days for portrait sessions, and within no later than 7 days for weddings.
2) Full galleries take a little longer to deliver as I'll go through all of your images much more thoroughly, pick out lots more favorites, and fine-tune the editing (if needed). For portrait sessions, delivery estimates are 2-3 weeks. For weddings, full galleries usually take around 8 weeks to complete.
3) After your final gallery is delivered, I'll message you with a link you can take to order the prints that come with your package. Shipping will be included, so once you place your order the total will be zeroed out and your prints will be on the way!

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How do you charge travel fees?

It all depends on where I'm traveling to!

For locations within Colorado :
I drive 2 hours roundtrip from Nederland, CO free of charge!
After that I charge a $25/hr travel fee. (Example : Aspen is a 7 hour roundtrip from Nederland. 2 hours free = 5 hours x $25/hr = $125 travel fee.
During the winter months (November - March) for locations more than 2 hours away from Nederland, 1-2 nights accommodation will be required. This is for two reasons!
1) so that I will not be held up from being at your wedding by storms and the accidents and shutdowns they can cause on the highway, and
2) for my safety driving there and back.

For destination weddings/locations outside of Colorado:
Many photographers just charge a flat rate per region, but because every location is different I like to leave the door open when it comes to travel in order to make it work best for both parties!
I require:
1) Roundtrip flight from Denver, CO + baggage fees
2) Accommodations for 3 nights (I get in a day early to make sure flight delays/cancellations won't prevent me from being at your wedding)
3) Rental car
Ways to save:
1) If it works, I'm always open to a couple using their flyer miles to book my flight! It just has to be approved by both parties to ensure the flight is feasible for me.
2) Accommodations can be with friends or family, or at a hotel where you have discounts associated with your wedding! I just require a private room, the ability to shower, the area to be safe and secure, and that whoever I'm sharing space with be okay with Bobby & Bryce being there (as they often travel with me to make childcare easier outside of the wedding day).
3) Rental car can be with a company whom you get deals through, a friend or family members car that they are okay with us borrowing, etc. I just require it to be safe, reliable, and have enough space for a carseat in the back if Bryce and Bobby are traveling with me.
