"The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."

- Chris McCandless

states i've lived in

Personally, I have a fixation with juniper trees, Utah deserts, and the feel of sun on my skin. I think I may have been a lizard in another life. I thoroughly enjoy basking (with 50 SPF on, of course).
But seriously though, the one thing I will say about myself is that I 100% have "the Stoke".
"What is that?" you might ask.
Well, it's essentially enthusiasm for living.
My constant ability to be awed by both the new and the familiar is something I'm so grateful for.
This life is beautiful, and I love documenting it.

Trying to describe myself in a quirky, eloquent way is about as easy as climbing 5.14, which (at least for me) is impossible. I can tell you this :
I'm a mid-western transplant to the best place in the world - Colorado. I'm married to the sexiest nerd you'll ever meet- Bobby Swanson who is a tech guy by day and a volunteer firefighter... always. I'm also a mama to Bryce Oliver - a fiery ginger baby who loves his social life. And Frozen. And falafel.
As a family, we like to pursue the outdoors together and have duels in our living room with our custom wooden wands that one of my favorite couples got for us.

Becoming a

Embarrassing fact :
I actually met Bobby at a wedding I was shooting. The groom set us up, and just over 4 years later we're married, have a baby and a house together in the mountains.
We're kinda made for each other (even though sometimes I kind of want to roundhouse kick him.)

My little dude,
my patronus.

If there's one thing light and perfect in this world, it's this constantly-covered-in-yogurt ginger baby.
He loves to dance to Bowie, climb every rock in site, find the biggest puddles to flop down in, and give us the best hugs.

The music I dig...

I'm one of those people who really believe that the music you love says a lot about who you are. Check out my "Top Songs of 2019" on Spotify to see which tunes I've been into lately. (Essentially folk music, Queen, and movie scores.)

I love traveling
as often as I can.

Whether it be into town for some urban exploration, or across the world to the tops of mountains - my goal is just to see and do as much as I can in this life.

Politics matter to me.
A lot.

For better or worse, I'm a bit of a political junkie. I deeply care about the prevalent issues we're facing in our country, and am continuously learning how to be a better ally, activist, and human. Progressive liberal right here!

Climbing all the

I've been so passionate about this sport, the community it provides, the peace it brings me, and the calluses it causes for the last 10 years.
I truly don't know where I'd be without it.

Two words.
Harry. Potter.

100% Harry Potter nerd, and 100% proud of it.

"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.
- Albus Dumbledore

Beautiful cinematography and messages

aka, movies. I can safely say that certain movies have literally changed my life, and the combination of beautiful cinematography, an epic score, and a meaningful message leave me in absolute awe.

My favorites : Big Fish, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Captain Fantastic, Atonement & Anna Karenina.

The place I love,
the place I live.

I never felt like I really understood the concept of "home" until we found a home in this little hippie town in the mountains. It's where I've always belonged, and where I hope to always stay.

When I'm not taking photos of couples & families, I'm super passionate about helping small business owners develop quality imagery for their websites & social media.

Waking up in a tent
is a magical feeling.

I don't know if it really gets much better than waking up to the sun shining through your tent walls, a breeze blowing through the vents. and an adventurous day ahead.

*Not to be confused with :
1) waking up at night because you have to pee.
2) waking up in a puddle because you camped on rocks.
3) waking up to a skunk outside of your tent.
