Jen & Rick’s summer wedding at the Grant-Humphrey’s Mansion was the perfect combination of classic sensibilities with a laid back attitude. The daily afternoon thunderstorm passed by while they got ready, and cleared just in time for their ceremony in front of the tall white pillars of this historic home.
My favorite part about Jen & Rick’s wedding day was their first look. So many mushy, loving gazes and hugs were exchanged as they shared a few minutes together before heading down to officially tie the knot in front of their wedding guests.
Their vows to one another had everyone both laughing and crying happy tears, as it was clear these two were made for each other despite some of their quirkier differences (aka Rick’s love for Phish). After the ceremony, the cocktail hour out on the terrace was perfection as everyone soaked up the last of the Colorado sun and warmth before heading inside.
They kicked off the dance party with a birthday cake and song for one of their best friends, which is something I think speaks to the value they place on others over themselves, even on a day that is almost always so dedicated entirely to the couple.
The ended the night with letting loose, laughing with friends, eating delicious donuts, and dancing.
